The district is located in the Los Angeles suburbs, making up 4.45% of Los Angeles County. It includes all of the city of Burbank, 93.92% of the city of Glendale and 3.79% of the city of Los Angeles, covering the neighborhoods of Atwater Village, Los Feliz, North Hollywood, Silver Lake, Toluca Lake, Valley Glen, and Valley Village.
Traditionally, the district, which is currently known as the 43rd but has had other numbers over time, was very conservative; however, since the election of Scott Wildman to succeed Jim Rogan in 1996, the district has had a more liberal leaning. The list of representatives below are representatives of solely the 43rd district, it does not take into account that the district centered around Burbank and Glendale has had different numbers over time.
